Full of all the usual panto antics and humour, Aladdin was a
colourful and charming panto to watch - especially with those
lovely Chinese lions making an appearance. Attic Theatre
would like to thank Pete Thomson for his enthusiasm and
commitment in producing "Aladdin". Many thanks also to his
production team, cast and crew for all their hard work who yet
again, have given us another successful Attic panto.
Once upon a time, there was a young boy called Aladdin who, with
his brother Wishee Washee, and mother Widow Twanky, run a
laundry in Peking China. Aladdin meets and falls in love with
the Emperors daughter, Princess So Shi, but as he and his family
are poor he is unable to marry her. The Princess loses Ping Pong
her pet Panda and Aladdin decides to find Ping Pong to impress
the Princess, but the evil Abanazar has other plans. He pretends
to be Aladdin's Uncle to win his trust and tricks Aladdin into
retrieving a magic lamp from a cave. Fortunately Aladdin sees
through Abanazar’s plan and gets the lamp for himself, rubs it
and releases the Genie inside. The Genie grants Aladdin his
wishes and he becomes very successful and wealthy. However
before Aladdin can marry his love, Abanazar steals the lamp and
kidnaps the princess. Will Aladdin manage to save the day? Will
Abanazer get his just desert? Will anybody find Ping Pong? .....
