Attic Theatre's pantomime for 2002 was "Beauty and The Beast" which was held at Aberdeen Arts Centre, King Street from 11-21 December 2002. With all performances sold out prior to opening night, this proved to be another successful Pantomime. With the incorporation of magic and the usual panto antics, it was well received by not only the children but the adults as well. Directed by David Johnston, Musically Directed by Jean McLeod and Choreographed by Sharon Gill this pantomime was a magical experience to warm you up on a cold winters night.
The story begins at a summer fayre where the local villagers are celebrating the 16th birthday of the lovely Angela. However the evil Maldeval has cooked up a plot to kill the handsome stranger Beaumont, by adding the dangerous “dance till you drop” drug to the birthday cake. Brave Beaumont heads to the spooky castle in search of the antidote but the evil Maldeval follows him and with the help of the Wicked Wizard they turn him into a Beast
What will become of Beaumont the Beast? Will the Fairy Godmother be able to reverse the magic? Will he ever be reunited with Angela? |
