ARTISTIC temperaments were in full flight last night as the
Aberdeen Arts Centre played host to the Attic Theatre Company's
feisty cast in the hit musical Fame.
While
the fragile egos of the pupils and teachers of the legendary Schoool
of Performing Arts exploded into life, we began to understand why
Fame has been such an enduring success over the years.
It
was blatantly clear last night that Fame is the standard to which
all singers and dancers aspire
Under
the strong direction of David Johnston, Attic Theatre more than
holds its own in this winning version.
The
multi-talented young cast belt out numbers like Dancin' On The
Sidewalk and Bring On Tomorrow with unbounded enthusiasm.
With
confident performances and fine singing from Michelle Bruce and
Gordon Brandie as Serena and Nick, and tight musical direction from
Jean McLeod, this production instantly won the admiration of the
capacity audience.
Fame
is highly recommended and runs at the Arts Centre until Satuday.
