THE annual Attic Theatre panto at Aberdeen Arts Centre is one of
those shows that leaves a memorable effect on its audience - usually
a mixture of temporary deafness and a wide eyed look of startled
disbelief.
From
today until December 23, when you meet people stumbling around in
this uniquely dazed state, you will know they have been Mother
Goosed.
Part of
the appeal of the Attic panto is that it follows a long established
pattern.
The cast
of colourful characters have an adventure on stage, and several
hundred small children scream themselves into a frenzy.
Directed
by Anthea Robertson, Mother Goose more than fulfils its threat of
organised mayhem and the children enjoyed themselves last night well
past the limit of adult endurance.
Couthy
Brian Patterson is hilarious as Mother Goose, while Joan Logan must
be one of the most glamorous principal boys to grace the Arts Centre
stage.
Naturally, everyone lived happily ever after.
Mother
Goose runs until December 23 and is highly recommended.
