WHEN you are in a show, you never actually see it all the way
through and you never know if it's any good until you hear the
audience reaction at the end.
With
a panto, things are very different. You can gauge a panto's
success from the start simply by listening to the noise and hysteria
generated by the audience.
The
Attic Theatre's annual panto at the Arts Centre is normally the most
exciting, outrageous and noisiest panto in town.
This
year's production of Cinderella sets a standard of feverish energy
that will be difficult to beat.
Director Anthea Robertson has pulled together a terrific cast and
concocted a barrel of crowd-pleasing gags and effects that had the
audience reeling. Fiona Lussier was in great voice as
Cinderella while Debbie Boyd is absolutely perfect as Prince
Charming.
Carla
Hofman is equally stunning as Dandini and Craig Scott excels himself
as Buttons.
Stuart Mearns and Neil Sutherland thoroughly terrorise the audience
as the two Ugly Sisters while Pauline Chambers struts supreme as the
Wicked Stepmother.
By
the end of the evening the youngsters had to be scraped off the
ceiling.
Tremendous value and terrific fun Cinderella must not be missed.
